British Company Video Window Powers First Ever UK Portal in Ipswich
Ipswich, UK — Video Window, the world’s first always-on video conferencing portal operating in 64 countries, has today powered the launch of the UK’s first public Portal in Ipswich. Installed in the town’s historic Cornhill area, directly opposite the Town Hall, the Portal introduces a new form of always-on, real-time global connection to the UK.
Developed by Portals.org and powered by Video Window technology, The Portals is a global art project that links cities through live video. The Ipswich Portal connects residents and visitors with people in Dublin (Ireland), Philadelphia (USA), Lublin (Poland), and Vilnius (Lithuania), running continuously 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Video Window’s software enables uninterrupted live video streams, transforming each installation into a “window to the world.” The platform is designed for permanent public use, operating reliably across multiple time zones while maintaining privacy and stability.
Daryl Hutchings, CEO of Video Window, said the launch is a significant milestone for the company and the town. “We’re incredibly proud to see the first UK Portal come to life right here in Ipswich, powered by our UK-based technology from Bristol. This installation is a beautiful demonstration of what Video Window was built for—bringing people together, anywhere, anytime.”
