Video Window Takes the Next Step in Accessible Transport Innovation

Video Window is pleased to announce the next stage of development for Video Window Kiosk, our innovative solution designed to bring accessible, real-time human support into transport environments.

As part of the latest National Centre for Accessible Transport (NCAT) Scaling Innovation programme, Video Window is continuing its work to develop technology that can help create a more inclusive and connected passenger experience.

The NCAT programme has awarded further funding to 11 innovators developing solutions aimed at tackling accessibility challenges across transport. For Video Window, this represents an exciting opportunity to take our kiosk technology further and explore how live video communication can support passengers who may need additional assistance when travelling.

Introducing Video Window Kiosk

Video Window Kiosk is being developed to provide passengers with access to a real person through a simple, accessible video interface.

The concept combines Video Window’s live video communication technology with purpose-built kiosk hardware, creating a platform that can be deployed in transport hubs and other public spaces.

The aim is to make human assistance more readily available, particularly for passengers who may face barriers when navigating transport independently.

Rather than replacing human interaction, Video Window Kiosk is designed to extend the reach of human support — allowing assistance to be provided remotely when a member of staff isn’t physically available.

Putting Accessibility at the Centre

A major focus of the project will be understanding how the technology can work effectively for people with different accessibility needs. Through development, testing and collaboration with the wider transport and accessibility community, Video Window will continue refining the Kiosk to ensure it is practical, intuitive and genuinely useful.

The project builds on Video Window’s wider mission: using video technology to make human connection easier, wherever people are.

The additional NCAT support marks an important milestone for Video Window as we move Video Window Kiosk closer to real-world testing and deployment.
